Meistres Bronwen has been a member of the Society since A.S. XXIII, and was one of the founding members of the Shire (then a Canton of the Barony of the South Downs) of Sol Haven. She has also served Sol Haven as Reeve, as Seneschal, and for 11 years as Web Minister, and she has served the Kingdom of Meridies as Kingdom Chronicler, Kingdom Poet Laureate, Kingdom Bard, Pennon Herald, Lambent Herald, and Lantern Herald (Heraldic Education), and as the Dean of Heraldic Studies for RUM (the Royal University of Meridies). Bronwen has edited the Shire's newsletter, The Equinox, since it's beginnings, has Autocratted four events (Rites of Spring III in A.S. XXV, Legends IV: An Arthurian Legend in A.S. XXIX, Fall Crown List A.S. XXXI), and Legends XVI: The Borgias held in June of A.S. XLI (2007). She was the Deputy Autocrat for Legends VI: Men in Kilts in A.S. XXXII, and Legends VII: The Pirates in June of A.S. XXXIII (1998), was the Co-Autocrat for the first Festival of the Laurels held in June of A.S. XL (2005), amd was the co-Autocrat for Spring Crown List held over the weekend og May 1st-3rd A.S. XLIV (2009). She assisted the Meridian Pennsic Landcrat for some years, and was the Meridian Landcrat for Pennsic XXVII, XXVIII, and XXIX, and has worked for years at Heralds Point both at Gulf Wars & Pennsic. She also has taught numerous classes both Locally, at Wars, and for the Royal University....these days mostly on heraldic topics, but also on other subjects. In A.S. XLI Meistres Bronwen was told that she was being granted a personal heraldic title, and the title "White Antelope Herald" is now registered with the college of arms. She stepped up as Beacon Herald in April of 2010.
A Bard, she has competed in Arts & Sciences in Poetry, Solo Vocal, Group Dance, Leather-Working, Cordials, Calligraphy and Illumination, and Weaving, has taught classes on various subjects, and has served as Mistress of the List on numerous occasions. Her poetry has been published in "Seasons", the Kingdom Arts & Sciences publication, and she has served both as Kingdom Poet Laureate and Kingdom Bard. She is one of the founding members (and even admits it) of both the "Not Necessarily Bards" and the "Sol Haven Players", and has participated in all of their productions (however humorously bizarre). Bronwen has owned to being the author and director of "Pirates of Pennsic", a filk operetta performed at Legends VII, and the author of the (approved) "Associate Owner's Handbook". She also conspired with THLady Molli Rose Kekilpenny in the authorship of "Hassan and the Magic Bottle: An Untold Tale of the Arabian Knights" presented at Legends VIII: Ali Baba & the Forty Thieves in June of A.S. XXXIV. She is also a member of Saltare, the Kingdom Dance Guild. and of The Company of St. Cecilia, the Kingdom Bardic Guild.
As a former Protégé to Mistress Christianna MacGrain she is a member of Mermayde Keepe, and is also a former member of House MacLeod, the Household of Sir Simon MacLeod.
She currently has two protégés -- Lord Thorfinn Eriksonr, Lady Essyllt volsk Thrasa fostra , and one Foster Protege Lady Tabitha of Erin . At present she has had three proteges elevated to the Order of the Pelican Dame Yseult de Montagu, Mistress Molli Rose Kekilpenny, and Dame Aislinn Chaomhanach
The photo above was taken at Fool's War in April of A.S. XLIII (2009) and isn't totally scary.
Both her name and device (Per pale sable and argent, an antelope statant, in chief a pearled coronet counterchanged) and personal badges ((Fieldless) An antelope statant argent) and (Per pale sable and argent, an antelope statant counterchanged), as well as the household's name and badge ((Fieldless) An antelope statant within and conjoined to an annulet argent) are registered with the SCA College of Arms.
